Proxy season, aligned investing

Berkshire Hathaway investors voted down a proposal to sell the company's shares in PetroChina, the largest oil concern in Sudan. The Los Angeles Times reported last week on the company's work in Sudan, as part of an investigation into the alignment of investment portfolios with foundations' philanthropic mission.

For shareholders who might choose to take a different course of action, the As You Sow Foundation has made its "Proxy Preview 2007" available on its website.
